In Review: the sea with no one in it

Happy New Year, internet folks! Hope you've been enjoying a brand spanking new 2014. I've started off the year with a rush of reviews. I'll be posting excerpts as they emerge - lots of good stuff to be reading!

My last book review of 2013 was Niki Koulouris' poetry collection the sea with no one in it for the Telegraph-Journal. A solid piece of work. Snippet below.

the sea with no one in it

In her debut poetry collection, Niki Koulouris stands, as many have before her, at the lip of the sea. New from The Porcupine’s Quill press, the sea with nothing in it is a sparse reexamining of the water that surrounds us, the preternatural body on our shores. The collection rattles with the detritus of land-meets-depths, as spare and exact as a ship in a bottle.

Here's to a plentiful year of reading and scribbling!
