National Magazine Award for Floating

Back in the summer of 2018, I shot a series of portraits with lovely photographer Grant Harder to accompany my short fiction piece Tremors, which appeared in Maisonneuve that September. Grant was a gem, I floated into the ocean at Jericho Beach, we caught the light, it was a hoot.

In a fun twist, Grant’s images recently won Gold in the portrait photography category at the National Magazine Awards! It’s as close as I’ve been to date to the NMAs, and I’m pleased as punch for Grant. Always a treat to see an artist at work up close. Ocean swims any time, Grant!
